Duo nabbed for dealing in illicit cigarettes in Polokwane, to remain in custody
The one suspect has in the meantime abandoned his bail application.
POLOKWANE – The two accused, aged 42 and 25, re-appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 39 October for formal bail application.
According to Hawks Spokesperson, Capt Matimba Maluleke the bail application of the 42 year old man was postponed to 6 November and he was remanded in custody.
The 25 year-old man has in the meantime abandoned his bail application and will re-appear on 23 November.

Both men faces a charge of dealing in illicit cigarettes The duo were arrested by members of the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation unit on Monday, 19 October during a raid at a lodge on the outskirts of the city.
Their arrest comes after the members received a tip-off about people selling illicit cigarettes at the said lodge. “The team descended at the said lodge and proceeded to one of the rooms where they found 330 cartoons of Remington Gold cigarettes, worth an estimated R47 000.”
