Magna Via double murder: Husband among 5 men accused

The man was arrested in hospital earlier today, after he is said to have attempted to take his own life.

POLOKWANE – The husband of one of the businesswomen who were murdered in a double shooting in the Magna Via industrial area two weeks ago, is among five people who were earlier today arrested for the crime.

Reports suggest that he was hospitalised after he had attempted to take his own life and police subsequently arrested him in hospital.

This comes after the Provincial Police Commissioner, Lt Genl Nneke Ledwaba hailed five arrests, in the early hours of this morning in connection with the murder of Makoena Leshabane and Tebogo Mphution on 10 October.

According to Police Spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, a red Hyundai Accent (believed to have been used in the commission of the murders), two firearms, two magazines and 13 rounds of live ammunition were seized during the early raids.
