Local soccer star, Rhoda Mulaudzi from Malonga won the Inaugural South African Football Journalist Association Women's footballer of the year award.
LIMPOPO – Rhoda said she couldn’t have done it without her religion and the support from her Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies soccer teammates.
“I’m very excited, it means a lot to me.”
She won R10 000 and received a trophy.
SAFJA Deputy Chairperson, Busisiwe Mokoena thanked Mulaudzi for displaying a magnificent play during 2019/20 season where she scored 36 goals in five games that she played for Mamelodi Sundowns ladies soccer after she returned from Sri Lanka.
She also indicated that it is good for players to have financial reward for their performance.
“The purpose of this award is to motivate players to play well and be competitive and this will help to develop soccer in our country.”
