‘Bring back the death penalty’ – Twitter reacts to the murder of Limpopo teenager Kagiso Kale
South Africans are calling for decisive action to be taken by the government to stop the scourge of GBV in the country.
LIMPOPO – Twitter users have taken to the platform to express their dismay following the brutal murder of 17-year-old Kagiso Ramokone Kale. The Gr 12 learner was stabbed to death in a village outside Mokopane on Wednesday evening.
In tweets South Africans are asking for Gender-based-Violence to come to an end and for the President, Cyril Ramaphosa, to act before it is to late. Some users have even gone as far as to ask that the death penalty is brought back for those found guilty of crimes against women and children.
Waking up in South Africa to these gruesome and brutal murders of our fellow sisters is really disheartening! Our Government clearly doesn’t see the need to urgently tighten the laws and help us fight this battle against GBV😔

It’s deeply worrying how it seems like the value of lives of women is cheap in the eyes of men. Now even younger men are part of this great disgusting evil. GBV should be punished with the harshest sentences. We can’t go on like this.#JusticeForKagiso pic.twitter.com/0JYfrTw4RN
