38 Covid-19 deaths recorded in Limpopo

Polokwane is still the epicentre of the virus, having recorded the most cases and deaths.

LIMPOPO – Covid-19 cases in the province have increased by 183 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to over 3 000 on Monday, 13 July.

The province recorded one new death in Polokwane on Monday, bringing the total of Covid-19 deaths to 38.

According to the latest figures issued the Department of Health, Capricorn District Municipality recorded the most new cases in the province, with 41 in Polokwane and 10 in Lepelle Nkumpi Municipality.

The Waterberg district has the second most cases – 32 were reported in Thabazimbi, five in Mogalakwena, four in Bela-Bela and two in Lephalale.

Elias Motsoaledi reported 13 new cases, Fetakgomo Tubatse eight, Makhuduthmaga seven and Ephraim Mogale two, in the Sekhukhune district.

Mopani recorded 29 new cases, of which nine were reported in Tzaneen, nine in Ba-Phalaborwa, eight in Giyani and three in Letaba.

In the Vhembe district, Thulamela recorded nine, seven in Collins Chabane, six in Musina and Makhado three.

Of the 3 039 confirmed cases in the province, 1 850 are active cases while 1 151 people have recovered.
