Sweet Beats Models will crown Mr and Miss Spring Polokwane at Mimosa Recreational Club on Saturday.

The winners of the pageant will be required to do charity work and help the needy.

Maite Makgato of Sweet Beats Models, says the pageant aims to nurture models from the province and to teach them modelling skills.

“This is the first pageant to be hosted by Sweet Beats Models, but we plan to make it an annual event to groom models and to empower them,” says Makgato.

She says they believe beauty goes with brains and models should educate themselves.

“We normally interview models as we need someone who can speak and represent the agency with confidence. During the pageant, we will look at physical appearance, clothing, movement, confidence and posing,” she says.

Oupa Sekgobela, also of Sweet Beats Models, says he expects the pageant to run smoothly.

He says young people who want to become models can join the agency.

Tickets at the pageant cost R30.
