Limpopo’s 1st isolation patient re-tests negative for Covid-19

The patient, who is from the N'wamitwa area, was taken into isolation in Limpopo after he travelled home after testing positive in Gauteng.

LIMPOPO – The first patient to be taken into isolation in the province has been discharged after he completed his isolation period and the results of the re-test came back negative.

This was confirmed in a statement by the Limpopo Health Department.

The patient, who is from the N’wamitwa area, was taken into isolation in Limpopo after he travelled home after testing positive in Gauteng.

“The department is happy to welcome back and reintegrate him back into the community, and calls on all community members to fully welcome and support him since he has completed his isolation and his body has cleared off the virus,” the statement reads.

Departmental Spokesperson, Neil Shikwambana says in the statement that they intend to make the man an ambassador for Covid-19 in the province, particularly on the importance and the benefits of isolation after testing positive.

“The department calls for calm and requests all those who he came into contact with, to remain in quarantine until they finish the prescribed 14-day isolation period,” the statement concludes.
