Court sentences serial killer to 9 life terms

He said all the crimes committed by Ntsieni had been premeditated and that he never showed any mercy when he assaulted and robbed his victims

LIMPOPO – Serial killer, Ndivhuwo Ntsieni (26) has been found guilty of 11 charges, five of murder, four of rape and two of robbery and sentenced to nine life sentences.

Before sentencing Ntsieni to nine life sentences and a further 15 years for robbery, the acting judge of Limpopo High Court in Thohoyandou, Jackson Mushasha explained to a packed to capacity court how serious the offences were.

He said all the crimes committed by Ntsieni had been premeditated and that he never showed any mercy when he assaulted and robbed his victims.

“I was also touched by the testimony of Rendani Thagisa, the mother of the murdered Shudufhadzani when she told this court that when she sent her daughter to the University of Venda to further her studies in nursing, she was hoping her child will become a qualified and good nurse and be able provide for her family,” said Mushasha.

He said he strongly commended the good work done by police investigation officer, Major Shumani Raphulu and his team, “if it weren’t for them, more people could have been killed”.

Ntsieni, a former final year B.Sc. student at the University of Venda, kept to himself during the entire sentencing.

He was found guilty of the following charges:

• The murder and rape of a first-year agricultural science student, Livhuwani Mmbodi (21); Tshililo Ndou (9) from Golgotha town, a suburb near Thohoyandou; nursing student, Shudufhadzani Thagisa (21) attacked and hit with a brick; Zwivhuya Mashau (8) who was in Gr. 3 at Nazarene School in Thohoyandou who was strangled and raped; and Brenda Ndove (45), a former cleaner, who was also attacked with a brick.

Azwimpheleli Ndou, the father of the young Ndou said he was happy that, Ntsieni was finally found guilty and charged.

“Although our children and beloved family members will never came back and live gain, Ntsieni will rot in jail and we are happy that justice has been done,” said Ndou.
