LIMPOPO – King Monada, real name Khutso Steven Kgale from Mokgolobotho village outside Tzaneen has released his debut album, Monna Waka.

The 13-track album features tracks such as Song to My Ex (Rethlalane), Bjala ke Dilo Tšaka and Okile wa Bikiwa. He says the album is a combination of modern house with a twist of Selobedu

King Monada says he started as a dancer in 2004 and only started making music as a producer and singer in 2007.

“I want to become an international artist. I want to explore the world, especially Africa. I have received some requests from artists interested in working with me from Kenya, Uganda and Angola. This is a dream come true,” he says.

His biggest goal is to represent Limpopo and South Africa, to promote the Selobedu and Sepedi languages, and to serve his people as a king with honor and dignity.

“My songs talk about my experiences and the experiences of people around me hence it really appeals to my fans. This album was done with love and I know most people will enjoy it,” he said.

He further says it only took him two months to package the album.

“I have been inspired by the late Peter Tenet, who was an inspiration to most young musicians in the area.”
