In the attack, Seitz’s scalp was torn off. She was rushed to the Pholosho Netcare Hospital where she was operated on.

According to the family’s spokesperson, Tess Riekert, Seitz underwent a second operation, to repair damage to the scalp, late on Wednesday evening.

“It was a lengthy procedure and she is in a lot of pain.”

Contrary to initial reports, it was a benefactor who funded Ronelle’s first few days in the hospital, since she doesn’t have private medical cover.

“We still need a lot of money for her treatment and operations,” explained Riekert.

If money is not raised, she would be transferred to a state health care institution.

Seitz also sustained wounds to her arms, legs and foot.

“Since Ronelle is in a lot of pain, her family requested that she doesn’t see any visitors.”
