Mokopane to brace for another shutdown this week

Residents are urged to avoid the area.

MOKOPANE – The Mokopane Task Team (MTT), Mogalakwena Concerned and Affected Communities (MCAC) and the South African National Civil Organisation (Sanco) will shut down Mokopane yet again on 5 and 6 September as no feedback has been received on the memorandum given to the ANC’s National Deputy Secretary, Jesse Duarte on 16 August.

“We gave the ANC seven days to address the demands. Those seven days have lapsed and the status quo remains the same.”

The shutdown will affect all sectors including the mining sector. The memorandum was submitted to the municipality and various government departments including the Office of the Premier.
