MOKOPANE – The Mokopane Concerned and Affected Communities (MCAC) and the Mokopane Task Team (MTT) attempted to submit their memorandum to the Mogalakwena Municipality. No official at the municipality was available to receive the memorandum. After an hour, protesters marched to the Mokopane Police Station.

Motlatso Selomo from the Mogalakwena Task Team reads out the list of demands.

“We demand a lifestyle audit to be conducted on all Mogalakwena Muncipality officials and politicians in the Mogalakwena Municipality Council”
“We demand vetting of all officials and politicians of the municipality to check if they are conducting the business with the state without declaring”
“Nepotism should be investigated and dealt with”
“Hire qualified staff with expertise and advertisement of job opportunities should be done through media and larger communication media”
“All temporary workers who have been with the municipality should be absorbed on permanent positions with immediate effect”
“All 100 to 200 people hired by Jabu Mashamaite unlawfully should be dismissed and Jabu must vacate his office as Deputy Manager of Corporate Affairs Department, while investigation against his conduct is finalised”
“The water crisis in Mogalakwena Municipality must be addressed as a priority and a contingency plan be initiated to resolve this problem”
“No more outsourcing of services like security officers, they should be hired as employees of the municipality so that they can enjoy all the benefits and stop enriching individuals who happen to directors of security companies”
“Priority of local development of SMMEs and entrepreneurs”
“Supply chain must be locally beneficial”
“All companies that worked with the municipality for a period of 5 years and more should excuse themselves and give opportunity to upcoming service providers”
“Andrina Matsemela should be recalled as Mayor and also as a councillor since she is no longer serving the interests of the community of Mogalakwena”
“We demand the dissolution of the Mogalakwena Municipality council”
“Stanely Chupu Mathabatha must also be recalled as a Premier of Limpopo”
“Tolly Mashamaite, Andrina Matsemela and Jabu Mashamaite must also be investigated for the murder of both Vaaltyn Sanny Kekana and Ralf Nkhanyane”

The memorandum was accepted and signed by Col Sello Andrew Tladi.
