CBD water supply shutdown postponed to Thursday

This is to allow stakeholders to recover from water shortages experienced over the weekend.

POLOKWANE – The planned water supply shutdown in the central business district (CBD), which was set to commence today, has been postponed to Thursday, 13 June to Friday, 14 June.

In a statement released, the Polokwane Municipality said this is to allow stakeholders to recover from water shortages experienced over the weekend.

“The planned shutdown is to allow for the replacement and connection of a pressure reducing valve linked to an asbestos cement (AC) pipe on the corner of Grobler and Munnik Street,” they explained in the statement.

They added that the water supply to the affected areas will be restored as soon as the contractor finishes the job.

The CBD areas will be affected and Nirvana, Rainbow Park and the Westenburg areas may experience low water pressure.

The municipality concluded that water tankers will be deployed to the affected areas as a temporary relief measure
