Vinolia said it is of utmost importance to treat your skin and have a skincare routine, which offers hydration and boosts your natural glow.

She recommends that the skincare routine controls the oils. For dry skin, she recommends a moisturiser and for oily skin, a mattifying face mask. Use a mattifying primer or a primer with less SPF. +A matte foundation, powder product helps control the oils too and a mattifying setting spray.

“Remember an oily skin barrier will try to break through the makeup. Always have your mattifying setting spray, as it will hydrate your skin if any shine peaks through the day,” she said. Depending on how your skin reacts to change of season, change your primer to alleviate the skin problem you might have during winter.

For example, if your skin feels more dry, use hydrating products such as a glow booster primer, SPF, dewy foundation or hydrating setting spray. Skincare before makeup is an important tip: apply the same principle with your skincare routine as the seasons change, should your skin react differently.
