Could loadshedding stages 5-8 be a nearing reality?

Schedules for loadshedding stages five to eight were recently uploaded by the Polokwane Municipality.

POLOKWANE – Having noticed the schedules for loadshedding stages five to eight uploaded on the Polokwane Municipality’s social media pages, Review received several inquiries from concerned residents, asking when they were going to be implemented.

According to Eskom, the power utility and government have started planning for Stage 5 and Stage 6 load shedding and while stages five to eight haven’t been implemented as yet, municipal spokesperson, Thipa Selela says the schedules were uploaded as a precautionary measure in case it happens.

The schedules are as follows:

STAGE 5 & 6

Stage five and six means that there are four blocks to have loadshedding in two hour intervals. This means that each block will have loadshedding at least three times a day.

STAGE 7 & 8

Stage seven and eight means there are two blocks for the entire city to have loadshedding in two hour intervals. However, with this stage, each block is likely to have loadshedding at least six times a day.

“We are currently in stage four loadshedding. Once again, the schedules for stages five to eight are simply a precautionary measure,” he concluded.
