#ThorishoThemane: Teenagers’ bail application postponed to April

All seven teenagers will remain in custody.

POLOKWANE – The seven teenagers arrested in connection with the murder of Thoriso Themane appeared in the Polokwane Children’s Court this morning.

According to police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the case was postponed to 2 & 3 April 2019 for a formal bail application to take place.

‘The teenagers will remain in custody,” he said.


#ThorishoThemane: Teenagers’ denied bail

POLOKWANE – The six teenagers who were arrested in connection with the murder of Thorisho Themane have been denied bail by the Polokwane Childrens Court, says police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

The teenagers appeared in court on Thursday, 14 March just three days after one adult suspect had charges withdrawn and two others denied bail.

A 72-hour activation plan was put into action by police following Themane’s brutal murder on 23 February, which resulted in the arrest of five teenagers on Monday, 25 February. The arrests were then followed by the arrest of the sixth suspect, also a teenager the following day.

Joining the six teenagers was a 13-year-old boy who was arrested after being handed over to police by his parents. He was also denied bail

“All seven minors were denied bail and their case was postponed to 22 March 2019 for further police investigations to take place. They are all still in police custody,” Ngoepe said.
