77-year-old arrested for driving at 197km/h on the N1 South

The man has been detained at the Naboom Police Station

POLOKWANE – A 77-year-old male driver was arrested by Limpopo Traffic Officers this morning, 7 February,  for driving at 197km/h in a 120km/h zone.

Spokesperson for the Department of Transport, Matome Moremi-Taueatsoala says the driver of the A4 Audi was caught by the department’s ‘Moving Violation Recorder (Vehicle)’ on the N1 South next to the Mookgophong off ramp.

He has been detained at the Naboom Police Station.

“Limpopo remains a zero tolerance zone for speedsters and we won’t tolerate anyone disobeying the rules of the road,” he concluded.
