LNW: Olifantspoort plant back in operation following vandalism of pipeline

This after the plant was temporarily stopped to allow for the repairs to a pipeline

LIMPOPO – The repairs to the pipeline have been completed and operations at the plant have resumed, says Lepelle Northern Water (LNW).

The Polokwane Municpality advises residents to continue to use water sparingly.

LIMPOPO – The Olifantspoort plant will be temporarily stopped for to allow for repairs to a pipeline which was damaged by local residents.

“The pipeline has been vandalised by community members who damage the infrastructure with the purpose of feeding livestock,” says Lepelle Northern Water (LNW).

The plant will be stopped for around 3 hours to allow for the repairs, LNW says.

According to the Polokwane Municipality the areas to be affected include Chuene, Maja, Polokwane, Seshego and Mmotong.

Water tankers he will be deployed to the affected areas.
