Male model puts Matoks on the map

Inspired by Canadian fashion model and public spokesperson on the skin condition vitiligo, Winnie Harlow, Mr National Supermodel RSA 2018 and Mr South Africa 2018 contestant Zondile Sathura (20) from Matoks became a model.

POLOKWANE – “Though I’m a male model, this beautiful model has inspired me because besides her skin condition and all the obstacles and struggles she endured in life, she believed she’s beautifully unique and followed her dreams. That’s what I’m aiming for. Now she’s one of the world’s most powerful inspiring, influential models,” Zondile said.

Growing up, Zondile attended Puledi Primary School and Sun Valley Primary School in Pretoria before moving on to Fedile High School and matriculated in 2016. He’s planning on studying media studies or journalism at Boston Media House or the Tshwane University Of Technology to balance his modelling career with a qualification. “I started modelling from a young age, but started modelling professionally in 2015.

“I also represented Limpopo at the International Arts Talent Showcase (Arts International) in 2017. This was in front of independent casting directors from Tyler Perry and Steve Harvey studios, representatives from the New York Film Academy and international talent scout, Kim Myers, of which I got a call back,” he added. Zondile was then selected to fly with the team that was representing South Africa to America at the Arts International in July.

Zondile is currently the reigning Mr Face Of Savannah 2018 King and Mr Cultural Heritage Limpopo 2018/19, Mr and Miss Limpopo Mzansi Africa public choice award winner and he was one of the top 10 models at the Limpopo Face of Fashion 2018.

“My advice to males who are still insecure and shy about modeling is that times have changed, modeling used to be a female dominated industry back then, so if you feel you’ve got what it takes and have a passion for modeling and the industry, be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise,” he advised.
