Teenager arrested for allegedly stabbing boyfriend to death during ‘drinking spree’

The Thohoyandou Police arrested a 19-year-old woman in connection with the murder of her boyfriend (25) at Mbilwi village outside Thohoyandou this weekend.

 

LIMPOPO – It is alleged the couple were on a ‘drinking spree’ with other patrons at a local liquor outlet when they started arguing and the suspect took out a sharp object and stabbed her boyfriend, said Police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngeope.

“The police and the emergency services were immediately summoned to the scene and the victim was taken to the local hospital where he was certified dead on arrival.”

The police immediately launched a manhunt for the female suspect until the she was arrested after she handed herself to the police on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile in the Lephalale Policing area, the Police have arrested a 31 -year-old woman in connection with the alleged murder of a former partner at Marapong location Extension 4 outside Lephalale this weekend.

It is alleged that the 36-year-old deceased had asked the suspect to accompany him to his home but she declined. The deceased however later went to the suspect’s house and allegedly found her with another man. A fracas ensued until the suspect stabbed the deceased to death using a sharp object.

Both suspects will appear before the Thohoyandou and Lephalale Magistrate courts respectively Monday, 12 November on charges of murder. The Police investigations are still continuing, concluded Ngoepe.

The Limpopo Police have condemned the violent attacks which are still prevalent at different liquor outlets in some parts of the province with the strongest possible terms.

“The public must refrain from resorting to violence in case of any sort of dispute including the domestic related ones which sometimes lead to the loss of lives.”
