Drug suspects appear in court after 73 balls of nyaope were confiscated
Three men who were arrested for possession of drugs and dealing in drugs appeared in the Mokopane Regional court on Monday, 5 November.
MOKOPANE – Kgethula Edmond Maphosa (30), was granted bail of R 20 000 and the other two suspects, Selby Lesiba Kekana (33) and Nothando Sibanda (28) were denied bail.
The three suspects were arrested on 30 September during a special joint operation at Mokopane policing area. The operation was composed of the Crime Intelligence, the Provincial Organised Crime Unit, Provincial Drug Narcotic Unit and the Provincial Detectives.
During this operation 73 balls of nyaope, each ball containing 250 sachets with the estimated street value of R730 000, were confiscated. The Mercedes-Benz which was transporting these drugs was also confiscated.
