#Moria – Traffic volumes expected to increase, says Transport Dept

Spokesperson for the Department of Transport, Matome Moremi-Tauetsoala says traffic is flowing freely towards Moria

POLOKWANE – The first week of September marks the consecration of the new year of the Zion Christian Church and as a result, the Limpopo Department of Transport say they are expecting roads in and out of Moria to be busier than usual.

Spokesperson for the Department of Transport, Matome Moremi-Tauetsoala says there was free traffic flow on all our major roads leading to Moria and as a result, no major incidents were reported.

“We have thus far had lesser accidents as compared to the same time last year. The only major accident we had was on the N1 near Ingwe Lodge in the Vhembe District. A freight-liner rear ended a Ford and the truck overturned. Three people were killed (1 driver and 2 passengers), three passengers were seriously injured and three passengers survived with slight injuries,” he explained.

Moremi-Tauetsoala says traffic is expected to increase leading to Moria from N1 south to north as well as from the two ports of entries (Groblersbridge and Beirbridge). “Our point duty officers and N1 brigade are on standby,” he concluded.
