Limpopo father hacks three children to death after alleged argument with wife

Police Commissioner Lt Genl Nneke Jim Ledwaba has condemned the brutal manner in which the three children were killed and as well as the re-occuring incidents of domestic related killings and attacks which are still taking place in the province.

LIMPOPO – A 43-year-old man was arrested for the brutal murder of three children  at Manyi village, Makhado in the early hours of this morning (Saturday), said the police.

It is alleged the suspect hacked the three young boys to death after an argument with his wife where he accused her of infidelity, saying that he is no the biological father of the children.

“He allegedly chased his wife with a sharp object, however when she managed to escape and run outside to look for help, he went to where the victims were sleeping and killed them,” said Police spokesperson Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

The motive behind this incident is still subject to  ongoing police investigations but domestic violence cannot be ruled out, he added.

The deceased have been identified as Tshilidzi Madou (7), Thabo Madou (6) and Olugaho Madou (2)

The suspect will appear before the Dzanani Magistrate Court soon on three counts of murder.

“Residents who are having social related problems are urged to consult their local relevant authorities for intervention rather than taking the lives of another especially the vulnerable groups,” concluded General Ledwaba.
