Planned Olifantspoort maintenance to take place today

The planned shutdown was set to take place on 14 June 2018.

POLOKWANE – According to the Polokwane Municipality, the planned maintenance will take place tomorrow, 20 June 2018.

A postponement was made last week after a request by the Muslim community who celebrated Eid on Friday, 15 June.

POLOKWANE – According to a statement released by the municipality, Lepelle Northern Water will shut the plant down on Thursday, 14 June, for repairs and the installation of new switchgears at the Olifantspoort Plant

Residents should take note that the shut off is scheduled to take place from 07h00 until 19h00 and the estimated time to complete repairs will take 14 hours.

Areas including Polokwane, Seshego, Westenburg, Ivy Park, Nirvana, Zebediela and Lebowakgomo will be affected.

“The Municipality and Lepelle Northern Water will ensure that reservoir levels are kept high to minimise water shortages during the planned maintenance. We urge residents and businesses to make necessary arrangements ahead of the shut off to avoid shortages and to use water sparingly at all times,” the statement read.
