Dagga worth R60 000 confiscated during search in Northam

The dagga was found in 25 plastic bags in an RDP house.

LIMPOPO – The fight against the mushrooming of drugs and drug trafficking in Limpopo is gaining momentum and continues to produce fruitful and meaningful results, says police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

In Northam, outside Modimolle, police searched a suspicious RDP house in Block 3 and a plastic bag was found carrying 25 packets of dagga with the estimated value of R60 000 during the search and one suspect was arrested.

“In Seshego, Lephalale, Modimolle and Thabazimbi, eight suspects between the ages of 20 and 52-years-old were arrested for possession of drugs and drugs with an estimated value of R11 47 and cash amounting to R8 050 were confiscated,” he said.

In Groblesdal, one suspect was arrested in possession of dagga and sachets of dagga with the estimated value of R2 000.

All the arrested suspects will appear before different Magistrate Courts soon.
