Police search for missing 104-year-old man in Matlala

Nang Kleinboy Mashilo was last seen by his family on Friday, 11 May at 07:00 in the morning.

POLOKWANE – -Police in Matlala, outside  Polokwane, have launched a search operation for the disappearance of an old man from Ga-Chipana village in the ga-Matlala policing area.

According to police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, 104-year-old, Nang Kleinboy Mashilo, was reportedly last seen by his family on Friday, 11 May at 07:00 in the morning, when he left his home to collect herbs in the nearby bushes.

“At the time, Mashilo was in the company of a 77-year-old man from the same village who alleged they went separate ways after collecting the herbs,” Ngoepe added.

At the time of his disappearance, Mashilo was wearing green trousers with a grey shirt and a brown cap. He is brown in complexion.

“A joint search operation composing of the Matlala Police, together with the K9 Unit, is still underway in partnership with  members of the community. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the victim may contact Warrant Officer Lesiba Mohale at 079 920 7419; the crime stop number 08600 10111; the crime line sms 32211 or the nearest police station,” Ngoepe conluded.
