[VIDEO] Irate customers demand their money back from Enterprise

A group of concerned consumers gathered outside Enterprise in Polokwane demanding a refund on items bought.

POLOKWANE – Following the announcement on Sunday by Minister of Health, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, that the outbreak of Listeriosis was traced to the Enterprise Factory in Polokwane, various retail stores announced that consumers who bought Enterprise products, could return it and be refunded.

At around midday on Monday afternoon, a group of concerned customers gathered outside the Enterprise Factory shop in Industria, demanding that the goods they bought be returned and refunded.

Enterprise consumers, with the products that they had recently bought.

As the situation got heated, Enterprise Plant Manager, David van der Berg had to step in and explain that not everyone would be refunded as they only had limited funds available.

However, customers can return their goods for a refund from tomorrow.

According to Joe Joshua, a local guest house owner, the situation is frustrating.

“What am I supposed to say to my customers that might have consumed possible contaminated food. And now the managers do not address the situation head on. We have been waiting here for hours and only now are they actually paying attention and communicating with us. Just tell us straight what is happening,” he said.

Joshua was not the only upset customer, review spoke to the following people who gave their thoughts on the situation.

Isaiah Ngomane: “This is a bad situation because we give these food to our children and grandchildren on a daily basis. I came to claim my money back.”

Nana Sekgale: “I was shocked when I heard if this disease that spread. Polony and viennas is something my kids eat on almost a daily basis. I am scared that they might get sick. I want a refund for this food so that I can buy something else.”

Kholofelo Ntakan: “This is a very dangerous situation and I hope that everyone get informed about it so as the prevent any further fatalities”

Johanna Molepo: “I just want a refund because what must I give my family to eat. This is such a waste thousands of hungry people could have been fed with the food that is now going to be discarded.”

Norma Rangwanasa “Everyone can make a mistake but this Is serious seeing as it affects people’s lives. I think old people and babies are the most susceptible to this disease because their immune systems are the weakest. I just want my money back and everyone to know that they must return the food in order to be refunded.

The public is urged to heed caution when it comes to consuming such products and rather remove them from their fridges.
