Municipal jobs are NOT for sale, warns the municipality

The Polokwane Municipality has sent out a warning urging residents not to fall for the latest job scam which is being advertised by an individual that goes by the name of Mr Tjia.

POLOKWANE -The scam entails job applicants to pay R4 000 into a personal account in order to buy themselves a job, however, the Municipality warns residents that there are no jobs for sale and that there is no one called Mr Tija working at the human resources department.

“The position for a receptionist is falsely being advertised on various job agency sites, and we would will like to put it on record that no such jobs are available in the municipality,” added the municipality.

In the event that there are job opportunities available the municipality would strictly advertise in newspapers and on the municipal website. The municipality urges members of the public to report any suspicious activities related to municipal vacancies to SAPS. We further urge the public to be vigilant when being promised any false jobs they did not apply for.
