Tumi Mokwena to go on trial says NPA

Mokwena was charged with the attempted murder of four farm workers at a citrus estate last year.

POLOKWANE – The Thabamoopo Court last Friday decided that the case against Polokwane attorney and businessman, Tumi Mokwena will continue in the Lebowakgomo Regional Court on 16 February.

Mokwena was charged with the attempted murder of four farm workers at a citrus estate last year.

At the time of the incident, he was on the farm consulting with clients, and a situation ensued from which he had to flee.

Mokwena was arrested on 22 June 2017 and charged with four counts of attempted murder.

He was granted bail of R10 000.

He in turn, opened a case of attempted murder against his attackers. No one has, however, been arrested or charged in the matter.

The National Prosecuting Authority determined that the case should go on trial.
