Dagga plantation worth R250 000 uncovered outside Louis Trichardt

Over a thousand dagga plants were recovered and a 25-year-old suspect nabbed during an intelligence driven operation in Waterval outside Louis Trichardt on Tuesday morning.

LIMPOPO – According to a statement issued by Police Const. Tshifhiwa Radzilane, the suspect was living in a shack that was erected on top of a mountain which overlooked the dagga plantation.

“During the operation which was led by Makhado Cluster Commander Brig Eddie van der Walt, the police uprooted 1159 dagga plants, weighing 70kg with the estimated street value of R250 000.00.”

The arrested suspect, which is believed to be from the North West Province, will appear in Waterval Margistrate court soon on a charge of cultivation of dagga.
