11 suspects still on the run following Phalaborwa dealership robbery

The police are still searching for the remaining white Ford Ranger

LIMPOPO -The police are still searching for 11 suspects who were involved in the robbery of six brand new vehicles from a Ford dealership in Phalaborwa on Saturday morning.

This comes after two men (aged 23 and 31) were arrested after being found in possession of the five of the stolen vehicles near Masisi the same afternoon.

The one arrested suspect was a driver and the second a passenger who was allegedly paid a sum of money to aid the suspects to navigate through the villages and access the Limpopo River, Police Spokesperson Lt Col Robert Netshiunda said.

The two suspects appeared before the Musina Magistrate’s Court on Monday, on the charge of possession of suspected stolen vehicle, where they were remanded in custody until Tuesday to allow them time to arrange legal representation.

They reappeared before the Masisi Periodical Court on Tuesday and were remanded in custody until 10 February 2018 to allow for further investigation.

LIMPOPO – Five of the six vehicles which were stolen at a Phalaborwa dealership have been recovered, says the police.

Two vehicles were found and a suspect arrested at Tshenzhelani village in Masisi. Three vehicles were found at the Limpopo River , reports Police Spokesperson Lt Col Robert Netshiunda.

The search for the remaining vehicle and  suspects continues, he concludes.


LIMPOPO – The police and a dedicated provincial task team have launched a massive manhunt for an unknown number of suspects who stole six brand new vehicles from a vehicle dealership in Palm Avenue, Phalaborwa in the early hours of today (Saturday).

Police Spokesperson Lt Col Robert Netshiunda, says the suspects broke into the garage, gained access into the office with vehicle keys and sped off with with the six vehicles; a Ford Ranger WildTrak 3.2 D/C 4X4 white in colour, silver Ford WildTrak Ranger 4X2 D/C, white Ford Everest 4X2 XLT, Ford Ranger 2.2 single cab gold in colour, gold Ford Ranger 2.2 XL D/C 4X4 and a white Ford Everest 4X4 LTD.

He adds that gloves believed to have been used by the suspects during the robbery were found at the scene.

“The vehicles were last spotted refuelling at a garage in Namakgale along the R71 route to Tzaneen,” confirms Netshiunda.
