POLOKWANE – This week we get to know Energy and Choice FM reporter and sports producer of Sports Live, Nathaniel Kubyane.
• Out of all the careers you just went straight to producing. Why is that and do you enjoy your work at a community radio station thus far? DJ The Saint Pablo from Sebayeng.
What I love about production is that it gives me an opportunity to explore the industry at large, unlike most presenters who only depend on producers’ work and never go the extra mile. I enjoy it because it teaches me about the dynamics of the industry.
• Which soccer team do you support locally and internationally? Frans from Mmotong.
Well, locally I am a big fan of Bafana Bafana. The legendary former Thobela FM sports caster, Rudolph Letsoalo, once advised me to never divulge which team I support locally, for various reasons. Internationally I support Arsenal in the English Premier League and Real Madrid in the Spanish la Liga.
• Ge o se mmerekong o rata go dirang? (What do you like doing when you’re not at work?) Mpho Mokoena Seshego Zone 4.
I am hardly off work unless there is no game at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex or any sporting event. The little off time I have, however, I either spend at home having my ‘me time’ relaxing or with family. I’m also at my gigs DJ’ing.
• Is it true that you love food and what’s your favourite dish? Joe from Ga-Mothiba.
To be honest I love food, however, I do not really love any specific dishes. I just love good food.
• If you were asked to relocate from South Africa, where would you go and why? Joel Majadibodu Ga Matlala.
I would most definitely relocate to England because of the English Premier League.
• What kind of music do you listen to? Jessica from the University of Limpopo.
I listen to soul and RnB.
