LIMPOPO – This follows the arrest of a 19-year-old boy for the alleged rape of a 64-year-old female relative which occurred at about 03:30 on Saturday (11 November 2017), at Makgophong village outside Lebowakgomo.
Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, said it is alleged the victim heard a knock at the door and opened it to find the alleged assailant, her nephew, wearing only his underwear.
“He allegedly grabbed and throttled her until she fell unconscious whereafter he raped her,” explained Ngoepe.
The suspect will appear before the local magistrate’s court today (Monday, 13 November 2017) on a charge of rape.
Family members are advised to ensure and put elderly care first and to avoid leaving elderly people with boys or men to avoid this type of incidents from happening.
Police investigations continue.
