LIMPOPO -The accused in the matter, a 52-year-old medical doctor from Ritavi outside Tzaneen, appeared before the Nkowankowa Magistrate’s Court on Thursday on a charge of rape.
The suspect was remanded in custody until 17 October 2017 for a formal bail application and for further police investigations.

LIMPOPO -Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe said it is alleged that the incident took place at around 16:00 on 9 October 2017, when the young patient visited the suspect’s surgery in Nkoankoa Township for consultation.
“On arrival, she was called into the consultation room where the accused examined her and then allegedly raped her.”
The matter was later reported to the police who arrested the suspect after their preliminary investigations were concluded, he added.
The suspect will appear before the Nkoankoa Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 12 October 2017, on a charge of rape.
Police investigations continue.
