The man that keeps the City Nights show rocking

This week we get to know Energy FM's City Nights presenter, Hanoch Baloyi, a bit better.

POLOKWANE – Giving listeners the opportunity to get to know their presenters better, Energy FM collaborated with BONUS to give the community the chance to ask the presenters some questions.

• If you were elected as president of South Africa for a day, what would you change or do for the citizens. From Mapula Makgashi at the University Of Limpopo.

“I’d invest a lot into motivating the citizens of South Africa because I strongly believe the mind is a powerful tool and that it takes some motivation to believe the future can be better than the present.”

• Do you have a close relationship with your maternal grandmother and how many times do you see her in a year or talk to her on the telephone? Mpho Sebabi from Seshego Zone 6.

“My grandmother passed away when I was still in high school but we were very close. I’m sure we would be video calling each other, chatting on WhatsApp and she would tune into my show all the time.”

• What is your favourite show on the station? Makie from Mashashane.

“I have two actually. The Ashifa Breakfast because they are a perfect example of individuals who work for a collective good and they make me realise that if everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself. I also enjoy Conversations, I just think Lethabo is a magician on the microphone.”

• Who do you look up to in life? Lesiba from Makotopong.

“To be honest with you I look up to everyone who is inspiring in their own path of life. I believe we can draw inspiration from anyone who knows their purpose in life.”

• Where are you originally from? What qualification do you have? Wilson Kolobe Ramaphoko from Moremadi Park (Nobody).

“Hello Wilson. I am From Giyani and I have a degree in media studies. Education definitely is the key to success and I think it is important for us to be educated in the field or career we choose to go into to.”

• Where did you start this radio thing and how was your first experience on radio, more especially to talk with the people you don’t see? Wilson Kolobe Ramaphoko from Moremadi Park (Nobody).

“I actually started at Energy FM. I didn’t have any other experience except the practicals that I learnt at varsity and my first experience was very nerve-wracking hey. I couldn’t sleep at all.”

• Hey Mr H, are you taken and if not what would you look for in a partner? Beatrice from Westenburg.

“No I am not taken. I don’t have anything specific that I look for in a relationship, I just think we should both follow the necessary procedures to make the relationship work out.”
