Manufacturing a sweeping success story

This talented, skilled family man holds a B.Sc degree in travel and recreation management but makes and sells brooms to earn a living

POLOKWANE – Artwell Mukandara (30) taught himself how to make feather dusters, brooms and other household utensils among others which he sells in the city.

Artwell graduated from the Chinhoyi University of Technology in Zimbabwe in 2009.

After struggling to find employment, Artwell decided instead of waiting for opportunity to come knocking at his door he would take the initiative to make and sell something so he could generate money to care for his wife and two daughters in Zimbabwe.

“Although it helps to put food on the table, I can’t say I’m satisfied with what I make while selling these products.

“The profit I make is just enough to get by but finding someone who is willing to help me apply for a work permit will make the world’s difference as I am skilled and qualified, I just don’t have the means to apply for a permit to find the employment I am qualified for,” he said.

Despite his current situation, Artwell remains positive he will be able to make a change and become able to properly provide for his family.

Anyone interested in assisting the dynamic young man can contact him at 071 231 8312 or 064 377 9417.
