Funeral arrangements for go-to motor industry veteran, Mike Vermeulen

Mike Vermeulen died in a car accident on the N1 south near Polokwane on Saturday, 1 July.

Mike Vermeulen’s funeral service will take place on Thursday, 13 July at 11:00 from the NG Kerk, Moedergemeente, c/o Biccard and Grobler Street.

 

POLOKWANE – It has been a devastating time for the Vermeulen family as they mourn the death of Mike Vermeulen, who died in a car accident that occurred on the N1 South near Polokwane on Saturday, 1 July.

He was a well-known and respected figure in the community and many people will remember him for his kindness and remarkable sense of humour. He was a good person who loved people and was equally well-loved.

Vermeulen, who was 74 at the time of his passing, worked as a Pre-Delivery Inspection Manager for Westvaal Motors. He started with the company 34 years ago and should have retired long ago but his passion for his job and love for working with people kept him working beyond his retirement years.

Known for being a perfectionist, his work acumen, vast knowledge and many years of experience made him the go-to guy for people from all over the country who had any questions within the motor industry.

He is survived by his wife, Annatjie, their daughter Anneline, son-in-law Maik Fenner and four grandchildren. The family expresses their sincerest gratitude for the phone calls and the messages of condolence, the support is appreciated at this difficult time.

Funeral arrangements have been delayed due to the government mortuaries’ strike.
