N1 north construction likely to cause traffic delays

The South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) advised the public of possible delays on the N1 North due to construction activities.

LIMPOPO – Construction work between km 70 and Musina (km 90) was scheduled to start on Monday and will conclude in December 2017.

The construction is necessary to improve the road quality, riding quality and safety and will necessitate the implementation of lane closures where necessary for safety reasons. These stoppages could cause delays in travel time along the route.

Road users are urged to be patient when travelling through the construction sites and comply with the instructions of the safety flag persons at all times. Construction workers and vehicles as well as construction machinery will be moving in and out of these construction areas.

Any related queries can be raised with the engineering consultant’s representative Kennedy Kasapo on mobile phone number 078 198 3441 or an e-mail could be send to kennedy.kasapo@deltabec.com or the contractor’s site agent Andile Mkhonqo on mobile phone number 082 772 6070 or e-mail andile@hillary.co.za.

Sanral appealed to motorists to reduce speeds as indicated to ensure the safety of other road users and the people working on the road. It apologises for any inconvenience caused during construction and the inevitable time delays but believes that on completion, the road will be safer and ensure a better and uninterrupted journey to the road user.
