WATCH: Mookgophong roadworks to disrupt Easter travels

The Limpopo Traffic Department has issued a statement urging motorists to drive with caution as there are a number of road works taking place on the R101 which will affect traffic over the Easter weekend.

POLOKWANE – At times, traffic will only flow from one direction and motorists will be diverted to alternative routes. The department has requested that heavy motor vehicles not use the R101 through Mookgopong during this period. To avoid congestion, motorists are urged to take the N1.

Municipal Traffic Control and members of various CPFs will man these routes and temporary road traffic signs are visible on the R101 Moordrift and on the N1 requesting motorists to stay on the N1.

Please take note of the following:

The R01 through Mookgopong will be a one-way from today (Thursday) 14:00 to Friday 14:00, direction: north. Vehicles travelling south during this time will be diverted onto an alternative road.
The R01 through Mookgopong will be a one-way road from Sunday 14:00 to Monday 08:00, direction: south. Vehicles travelling north during this time will be diverted onto an alternative road.
