Attempted business robbery in Polokwane CBD intercepted by police

The community reported a group of suspicious armed suspects in Polokwane's CBD and the police reacted swiftly.

POLOKWANE – Police spokesperson Lt Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says police reacted swiftly and successfully intercepted a group of six armed suspects.

“The suspects, aged between 23 and 35-years-old were en route to commit a business robbery at a liquor outlet in the city. They were travelling with two cars and all suspects were arrested,” said Ngoepe

During the arrest, the following items were recovered:

– Three 9mm firearms.
– One Nissan Xtrail.
– Four pairs of handgloves.

“The origin of the firearms and motor vehicle are being investigated,” said Ngoepe.

The suspects will appear before the Polokwane Magistrate Court soon and police investigations continue.
