The motive behind this incident is not clear yet but domestic violence cannot be ruled out.

POLOKWANE – The Westerburg Police are investigating two counts of murder which occurred yesterday evening (Saturday) at a residence on the Pietersburg Doornkraal Feesterrein along the Dendron road outside the city.

According to a statement issued by Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the deceased have been identified as Benjamin Dorfling (42), Leonora Le Roux (36) and Martinus Le Roux (30).

“It is alleged that Dorfling, believed to be the Leonora Le Roux ex-boyfriend, went to the Le Roux residence at around 22:30 yesterday evening where an argument ensued until he produced a firearm and shot and killed both Leonora and her brother Martinus,” said Ngoepe.

He added that Dorfling’s body was also found lying in the same house with a gun shot wound. “The firearm was found next to his body.”

The motive behind this incident is not clear but the contributing factor of domestic violence cannot be ruled out.
