Manhunt for Limpopo lodge’s lion killers

[WARNING GRAPHIC IMAGES] The Tzaneen Police have launched a manhunt after three lions worth nearly R1 million were poached inside their pens at a well known lodge

LIMPOPO – The police in Tzaneen have launched a manhunt for suspects involved in the killing of three lions worth nearly R1 million at a well known lodge just outside Tzaneen reports Letaba Herald.

According to a statement issued by Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, it is alleged that unknown number of suspects cut the fence and entered the lion cage at the lodge and killed three brown male lions in the early hours on Wednesday.

“The paws and heads of all three lions were cut off. The total value of these lions amounts to R900 000,” he says.

No arrests have been made as yet and police investigations continue.
