Police, paramedics assaulted after fatal accident

POLOKWANE – One person has been killed in Seshego Zone 5 on the Matlala road outside Polokwane yesterday (Sunday).
According to a Facebook post of Honnetsweng_EMS, the incident happened after a government ambulance was involved in an accident. “According to eye witnesses, the deceased was hit by another vehicle after returning to assist the ambulance crews who were injured.”
“Honnetsweng EMS and other services arrived on scene to be met by angry community that was assaulting the driver whose vehicle allegedly hit a bystander. The situation turned worse when the community started assaulting the police and paramedics who were trying to help.”
Police back up was called to the scene to calm the situation. All the injured are were taken to hospital for further medical care. The police are currently investigating, concluded the post.
