LIMPOPO – The traffic police conducting point-duty inspections stopped the man for driving 151km in a 120km zone on the N11 on Thursday afternoon, said provincial police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.
His vehicle was searched and illegal cigarettes, marked “Chelsea”, to the value of R500 000 were found and the police were summoned to arrest the man.
He will appear before the Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of possession of illegal cigarettes and contravention of the road traffic act, added Ngoepe.
Police investigations continue.
