DOUBLE MURDER: manhunt leads to arrest of two suspects

The Provincial Commissioner of the police Lt Genl Nneke Jim Ledwaba has commended the team of investigators who tracked down and arrested two suspects, aged 20 and 17-years-old, believed to have been involved in the brutal murder of two women in Makotopong village outside Polokwane.

POLOKWANE – A tip-off led to the arrest of the 20-year-old suspect. The  17-year-old suspect was arrested after found to be in the possession of the deceased’s cellphones that were taken during the incident said police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

The partly decomposed bodies of Moloko Enestinah Nkoana (88) and her domestic worker Maggie Molefe (44), were found by Nkoana granddaughter on 23 August when she went to visit.

“Preliminary investigations showed that Nkoana may have been strangled and that Molefe died from multiple stab wounds to her body,” explained Ngoepe.

The suspects will appear before the Mankweng Magistrate Court tomorrow (Tuesday).

Ngoepe furher added that the 20 year-old suspect who has also been linked to the murder of his 82-year-old grandmother, Mosebodi Jane Maboya, from Makotopong Village in August 2014 will appear in court on both murder cases. The 17-year-old suspect will appear on the charge of possession of suspected stolen properties.

Lt Genl Nneke Ledwaba thanked the local community for providing the information which led to the arrest of this suspects. Community members must maintain their successful partnership with the police until all our streets are cleaned from any criminality he urged

Police investigations continue he concluded.
