POLOKWANE – Flowers have been laid at the spot where a security guard was fatally shot during the armed robbery at Savannah Mall on Wednesday.
According to Savannah Mall Marketing Manager, Karen Botha, the security guard David Makgoba, was on his way to lunch when he noticed unusual activity at Debbie Mouton Jewellers. When he attempted to alert his colleagues of the situation he was shot.
“We train our security guards not to make a noise when they discover something wrong but to remain calm and then alert the other security personnel as well as the control room. He was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, and paid with his life,” said Botha.
