The safety of children is of the highest priority to the police.

POLOKWANE – The Provincial Police Commissioner, Fannie Masemola in a statement expressed shock and outrage after the attack at Noordskool yesterday.

“The safety of children is of the highest priority to the police, especially on the school grounds where they should feel safe and protected. This type of protest action will never be tolerated and those taking part must know that they will be brought to book.

“We will be working closely with the affected school to prevent this from happening again. I want to assure parents that the police will do everything in their power to keep their children safe,” he said.

He condemned the protest in the strongest terms and urged parents, student bodies, head masters and teachers to refrain from mobilising learners to achieve person agendas.

The police received no reports of injuries and no formal charges have been laid, according to provincial police spokesperson, Ronél Otto.
