Four Capital Craft vouchers up for grabs

The Capital Craft restaurant recently launched its limited-edition, Pale Ale called Hop On Hop Off.

Are you in the mood for a new beer taste sensation?

If the answer is yes, then we have some great news. Capital Craft recently launched its limited-edition Pale Ale called HOP ON HOP OFF.

This unique locally brewed beer features a lovely array of fruit-dominating hop aromas, ranging from citrus to tropical fruits with a mild malt backbone.

This beer was produced from Capital Craft’s home-grown hops and brewed at Devil’s Peak Brewery.

And with home-grown hops we mean, the hops were grown around the deck of the Capital Craft restaurant.

After a visit to the hop farms near George, Niel Groenewald from Capital Craft arrived home in Pretoria with a sample of African Queen hops.

“Hops are not supposed to grow in Pretoria, but after years and years of trying at Capital Craft, the hops finally took off and grew into a lush forest surrounding their outside deck,” Groenewald explained.

Hops are primarily used in the beer-brewing process as a bittering, flavouring, and stability agent in beer, to which, in addition to bitterness, they impart floral, fruity, or citrus flavours and aromas.

“From planting a ‘simple seed’ to collaborating on a fantastic beer and ultimately entrenching dreams and friendships… One hop at a time!” said Wouter Rothman from the Devil’s Peak Brewery.

700 litres of HOP ON HOP OFF PALE ALE was made and will be available to Capital Craft patrons from Friday.

“Now let’s have a draught and celebrate the magic that is craft beer!” said Johan Auriacombe from Capital Craft.

Four lucky Rekord readers can each win a R250 voucher to use at the Capital Craft restaurant in Menlo Park in Pretoria.
