This remake of the Goldie Hawn comedy classic tells the story of Leonardo (Eugenio Derbez) – a selfish, spoiled, rich playboy from Mexico’s richest family – while Kate (Anna Faris) is working-class single mom of three hired to clean Leonardo’s luxury yacht. After unjustly firing Kate and refusing to pay her, Leonardo parties a little too hard and falls overboard, waking up on the Oregon coast with amnesia. When Kate gets wind of this, she shows up at the hospital and, to get her money back, convinces Leonardo that he’s her husband, and makes him work for the first time in his life. But, with Leonardo’s billionaire family on the trail, and the possibility of his memory returning at any moment, will their new family last or will Leonardo finally put the clues together and leave them for good?

NOMMER 37 (16 DLV)
Showing at Nu Metro Menlyn Park and the VIP complex at Woodlands
Randal is a gangster recently crippled by an injury sustained in a gang fight. Wheelchair-bound and cooped up in his apartment in a rough Cape Town neighbourhood, with no one to support him except his devoted girlfriend Pam, Randal is heavily indebted to his former gang-mate and sociopathic loan shark named Emmie. With no way of paying the money back, he despairs for himself and Pam as Emmie violently demonstrates what will happen if Randal doesn’t settle his debt before the end of the week. Acclaimed South African crime thriller Nommer 37 (Afrikaans language with English subtitles) is based on the SAFTA-award-winning short film of the same name, which was co-directed by Nosipho Dumisa (who took on sole director-duties for the feature film). The movie is set in Haven Mansions, a fictional block of apartments in her imagined suburb of the Cape Flats, New Haven.
