Best of Pta awards are coming up

Make sure to get your ballot in next week's issue of your favourite community newspaper and start voting. There are big prizes up for grabs.

Every year Pretorians get the chance to vote for their favourite local establishments and this year is no different.

So, call up your love and get the name of that wonderful spa and restaurant you love so much because from next week on your vote can let them walk away with the coveted title as best in the Capital.

And the best part? By simply casting your votes for your favourite local business, institutions and people you stand the chance of walking away with prizes to the value of more than R200 000.

We are talking a two-night stay for two at the luxurious five star Walkersons Hotel and Spa in Dullstroom, a two-night stay for four people in a two bed self-catering cottage Brahman Hills in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, a four-night stay for two on the luxurious MSC cruise liner, half-day spa packages from Bakwena Spa, Skin Rejuvenation packages from Placecol and game drives, breakfast and lunch from Farm Inn.
All you have to do is look out for your Best of Pretoria Readers’ Choice Awards ballot that will appear in your Rekord newspaper of 22 July and start voting.

Simply complete 60% of the ballot to be eligible to win and help your favourite local business, service or product to get the recognition they deserve.

There are seven different categories, giving a truly comprehensive guide of what is hot and happening in the Jacaranda city.

The voting results are independently audited and the winners of each category will receive the ultimate recognition by having their business, service or product featured in the prestigious Best of Pretoria booklet that will appear later this year.

The winners will be available online at www.bestofpretoria.co.za throughout the year and is often used by readers to guide them in their shopping, social and service experiences.

For Marno van der Merwe known for his roles in the TV series Sterlopers and the movie Modder en Bloed only one name comes to mind when talking about local sporting heroes.

“When I was growing up and even now, my local hero will always be Joost van der Westhuizen. He is one of the most committed and motivating sportsmen SA has ever had. He has such a big heart, strong mind and was the sole reason I nearly chose rugby as career.”

Singer and songwriter Len Muller also loves everything local picks Market@at The Sheds as his favourite craft and flea market. “It is in the beautiful inner city of Pretoria and oh-so multicultural. It reminds me of what South Africa should look like,” he explains.

So who will you vote for? We can’t wait to see.
